Denard Robinson''s breakout day leaves no doubt to role with Jacksonville Jaguars
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Denard Robinson won''t soon forget his first regular season NFL Achat Kamagra Pas Cher start.
Nor will the Cleveland Browns, or the segment of their loyal and widespread fan base that grew accustomed to watching him torment Ohio State while he was a quarterback at Michigan.
Robinson might continue to be listed as a wide receiver in order for him to be allowed to keep wearing the same jersey number he did in college (16). But by rushing for 127 yards and Deca Durabolin Hiv a touchdown as the Jacksonville Jaguars finally escaped the ranks of the winless with a 24 6 victory, he left no doubt as to what his role is in his second season.
He''s not a wide receiver. He''s not an offensive weapon. He''s not a situational back or return specialist. He''s a running back, through and through.
"That''s what we''ve been working on. That''s why I want to show people that I''m not just a scatback or anything like that," Robinson said after posting the first 100 yard game of his career and the first for the Jaguars since Jordan Todman gained 109 yards against the Buffalo Bills last December.
The 22 carries were more than Robinson had his entire rookie season, when he was bothered by nerve damage in his right hand as much as he was challenged by the intricacies of trying to learn a new position. Even with offseason free agent signing Toby Gerhart rendered largely useless the past two weeks because of a foot Kamagra 100mg injury, Robinson carried the ball a total of only eight times in losses to Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
But if he was getting discouraged during those lean times, he didn''t let it show.
"I''m always a positive person," Robinson said. "I''ll always feel like I can make things happen. I''ll always work for it."
Robinson made things happen at Michigan, finishing his four year career as the all time NCAA for Cialis career rushing yards by a quarterback with 4,495. He topped 100 yards in each of his last three games against Ohio State, including when he ran for 170 yards and threw for 167 more as a junior in the Wolverines'' 40 34 victory.
Not counting a pass play in which the Browns were called for illegal use of hands, the first three snaps by the Jaguars saw Robinson carrying the ball. He had 67 yards by halftime, even if the entire offense didn''t get in gear until the latest expertly run two minute drill by rookie quarterback Blake Bortles.
With Gerhart among the Jaguars'' inactives, their leading rusher for the season who was in uniform going into the game was Bortles with 106 yards. Robinson bettered Deca Durabolin Blood Pressure that on his own, as well as what were the team leading 123 yards by Gerhart.
"Running the football helps a ton," left tackle Luke Joeckel said. "It helps the time of possession and all that kind of stuff, but it also gets the defense a little bit tired. Toward the end of the game, they weren''t coming off the ball in their pass rush like they were."
For the first time Anavar For Sale Philippines all year, the Jaguars finished a game with more running plays (35) than passing plays (33). Although Bortles was sacked twice in the second half and was leveled by linebacker Jabaal Sheard on an interception that led to the first of the Browns'' two field goals, the job done by the offensive line was otherwise better than average.
"Those guys were making it hard for (the Browns) to take shots on me," Robinson said. "They gave me that good opportunity."
"It''s hard to "Anadrol 50" throw five guys together and just expect everyone to be on the same page," Joeckel said. "It''s been kind of a process. But we got better, and we really felt things were clicking."
While Robinson''s longest carry was for 20 yards in the first quarter, the one he''ll remember most fondly came in the fourth quarter after a gaffe by Browns punt returner Jordan Poyer gave the Jaguars a first and goal at the 8. Robinson took a handoff from Bortles, went to his left, then cut back and lunged into the end zone for the first touchdown of his career.
"It was amazing to me," he said. "It''s a great feeling to have, something that you dream about your whole life. As a little kid, I thought about playing football in the NFL in scoring a touchdown. And I did it."
Coach Gus Bradley said he believed Robinson could be effective if the Jaguars chose to be committed to establishing the running game. But to say he was gushing over the performance of the fifth round pick from 2013 would not be entirely accurate.
"I don''t think he did anything special (or) out of the ordinary," Bradley said. "I just think he ran the ball hard. He''d probably be the first to Acheter Viagra Bruxelles give credit to the offensive line."
Joeckel was quicker to give credit to Robinson.
"I know he made plays. That''s all that matters," he said. "Linemen usually don''t take much credit for anything."
If Gerhart remains sidelined, Robinson is bound to become a focal point of the defensive gameplans of opposing teams, beginning with next week''s contest against the Miami Dolphins. Thoughts of that upcoming game seemed far away after beating the Browns.
